Terms and conditions


1.Operating Hours: From 08:00 to 21:00.

2.Pricing The price refers to a "per day" basis (24-hour period). Collision Damage Waiver limits the customer's liability for damage to the rental vehicle. The level of liability is the amount the customer leaves as a guarantee during the rental, which may differ depending on the type of vehicle, the payment method, and the customer's age.

3.Extra benefits • Unlimited mileage (2-day rental 600km free, excess limit: 0.25 euro/km with VAT) • Out-of-hours service (21:01 to 07:59) – 15 euro • Optional extras purchased locally • Ferry transport – 20 euro/transfer • Violation of the Greek Traffic Code (traffic fines, municipal fines), are the responsibility of the customer.

4.Optional extra conditions Optional extras are provided based on availability. Daily charge per unit: • Second driver – FREE (except LUXURY) • Additional drivers – FREE (except LUX & VAN categories) • Child seat – FREE • Baby seat – FREE • Snow chains - FREE • Surcharge for young drivers (under 23 years old): 8.00 euro/day • Senior driver surcharge (over 74 years old): 10.00 euro/day *The price of optional extra charges may be subject to change without notice *Prices include 24% VAT

5.Vehicle Categories/Models Our vehicles are classified into categories. Reservations are confirmed for a car category, not for a specific model, unless they are special vehicle categories. 6.Vehicle Condition Vehicles must be returned to the location/drop-off point in the same condition as upon pickup/delivery. The customer assumes responsibility for the due care and attention of the vehicle. The renter returns the vehicle in a clean condition (normal wear and tear excluded). If the vehicle is exceptionally dirty upon return or if there is damage to the seats and upholstery, an additional charge for deep cleaning will apply. This charge will depend on the actual condition of the vehicle upon return. Animals must be transported inside our vehicle in their special carrier. Smoking is not allowed inside the vehicle.

7. Payment Methods All credit and debit cards are accepted for payments. The card must be in the name of the main driver, who is also the person financially responsible for the rental.

8.Fuel policy Return the rental vehicle with the same fuel level as upon pickup. If the car is delivered with less fuel, the customer will be charged for the refueling service.

9 .Insurance SCDW – Super Collision Damage Waiver Minimum liability of the renter. What SCDW does NOT cover (Important Exceptions) SCDW, although it is the most comprehensive coverage for damages, does NOT cover the following, which you must pay in full: • Underside of the car. • Damage to the interior (e.g., seat burn). • Damage caused by off-road driving or violation of the terms of the contract (e.g., driving under the influence of alcohol). SCDW provides you with peace of mind by reducing the amount of the guarantee/excess that the company blocks on your credit card. GTR – Tires, Rims and Windows Insurance. Covers damage to tires or rims due to sharp objects, potholes or impact with a curb. Covers the cost of repair or replacement of windshield, side and rear windows from external causes (e.g., stones)

10. GUARANTEE AMOUNT – LIABILITY EXCESS (per category and insurance) Category A, B, C, D, E, Q, F: Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW & GTR) Deposit amount: 300 euro, Liability excess: 500 euro Category R, L, VAN: Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW & GTR) Deposit amount: 300 euro Liability excess: 800 euro Category LUX- LUX SUV: Guarantee/Excess from 1,000 euro to 2,500 euro (ranges depending on the car) There is no insurance that covers the following cases: Damage caused to the underside of the car due to bad driving or off-road driving. The responsibility lies exclusively with the renter. Loss or theft of personal items inside the car. Loss of vehicle key. Any damage caused due to the driver driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Damage caused by a driver who is not mentioned in the rental agreement.

11. Theft insurance All vehicles are insured for theft. The renter is only liable for the excess amount per category. THW – Theft Waiver. Limits the driver's liability for costs arising from the theft of the rental car to a 'liability excess' amount. Theft liability (Excess amount) per category: • A, B, C, D, E – 1,000.00 euro • Auto, SUV – 2,000.00 euro • 7-seater, 9-seater – 3,000.00 euro • LUX & VAN PROF – varies according to the estimated value of the vehicle Possibility of optional theft insurance – reduction of liability (excess)

12.Late Return A vehicle is rented for the period as stated in the rental agreement. At the end of the rental plus 1 hour of delay there is NO charge, after 1 hour an extra day of rental will be charged.

13.Rental Requirements Driving license Identity card or Passport or residence permit. Card/Cash for rental payment-deposit of guarantee *License in use for at least 1 year and 2 years for special categories. If your driving license is not from the European Union or the United Kingdom and if it is not in the Roman alphabet (i.e. if it is in Cyrillic), you must have an International Driving Permit and the domestic license. For driving licenses from countries that are not part of the international treaty on driving licenses, an official translation of the license must also be presented along with the original license. When renting within Greece, customers from non-EU countries must also present an International Driving Permit along with their domestic license. In case a customer arrives at the rental office without the necessary documentation as mentioned above, the booking will be canceled. In these cases, there will be no refund.

14.Driver age limits. The minimum allowed age for a driver is 21 years and 23 or 25 for large and special car categories. The maximum age limit is 74 without extra charge, drivers under 21 years and over 75 years will be subject to an additional charge. A minimum of one year's driving experience is required for all categories. For luxury cars and vans, two years of experience is required.

15. Cross-border movement – Restriction Crossing borders is not allowed. Renters are required to remain within Greece for the entire duration of their rental. Contact our office for exceptional cases.

16. Roadside Assistance Free 24 hours a day. *(for the recognized National road network)

17. Accident In case of an accident or other event, the renter or additional driver should contact and inform our company immediately. The company will replace the car, if it is not possible to drive, with a similar one depending on availability within 24 to 48 hours. Replacement charge: The charge is set at approximately 0.56 euro/km including taxes and potential other charges (e.g. towing, ferry transport, tolls, etc.) depending on the location where the damaged car is located. HELLAS RENT bears no responsibility for anyone driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

18. Loss of Keys. If the keys are lost or destroyed, they are not covered by insurance or risk reduction packages. Drivers will be responsible for all costs associated with recovery, loss of use, car replacement and repair.

19. Vehicle Trackers Some of our vehicles contain tracking devices that will be used in accordance with our data protection policy.

20. Personal Data (GDPR) We keep your personal data safe and confidential in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Legislation.

21. General Terms All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions. Greek law applies to agreements concluded on the basis of the terms mentioned above. VAT for our services is 24%. The vehicle must be used only by the renter or other drivers mentioned in the rental agreement. The use of the vehicle is prohibited,  for violation of the provisions of the Greek Road Traffic Code, for purposes contrary to Greek laws.  for towing other vehicles, transporting a boat.  for the transport of heavy objects, flammable materials.  off the paved road network.  for hire – sub-lease. In case of non-compliance with the above terms of our company, the customer will accept the responsibility and is not covered by the insurance and the excess amount.
